The Baltic Research programme shall strengthen multilateral relations with the aim of stimulating strong and sustainable collaboration, complementarity, capacity and competence-building and future collaborative research projects on EU and regional level.
The collaborative research projects between the three Baltic states and the donor countries – Norway, Iceland and Lichtenstein – must be conducted until 30 April 2024 with a total budget of €22 million. Three open calls will be foreseen: one in Estonia (25.10.2018.-31.01.2019), another in Latvia (2019) and third one in Lithuania (2019/2020).
In the framework of the Baltic Research programme the Estonian Research Council opened a call for proposals in cooperation with the Research Council of Norway. Information about the call is available here. Aplication can be submitted till 31 January 2019.

On 25 October 2018 researchers from Baltic States and Norway met in Tallinn to agree on cooperation in elaboration of joint applications for the first call of proposals of Baltic Research programme under Europe Economic Area and Norway financial instruments 2014-2021 programme “Research and Education”. More than 60 representatives of Latvian research institutions participated in the event.
