Four municipalities – Liepaja, Daugavpils, Cesis and Ventspils - in collaboration with partners from the donorstates are developing innovation centres under the EEA and Norwegian Financial Mechanism Programme. The main objective is to promote engagement in STEM education (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics). In the innovation centres new kinds of educational activities for children and teachers are designed in order to facilitate a cooperation between schools, higher education institutions, and research institutions as well as creating stronger links with the labour market.
